contentment & happiness

I am sitting here "at home" on a Saturday night. It's not like I never stay home on a weekend night, but I'm sitting here listening to Yentl (yes, Yentl... love it!) and I'm singing away without noticing I'm singing away and then I realize that there was once a time when I could sit in my room alone with an album I adore and be complete content and happy all night long. These glory days were mostly in high school when going out wasn't a priority.
I lived with my parents and my brother on Rainbow Drive. I was able to close my door and escape to a musical world of bliss. Back in those days there weren't even crazy reasons to escape, but it was just enjoyable. And when I opened my bedroom door my mom and brother would be there to play with and laugh with. Now they aren't.
Today there are many reasons to escape, I just wish I still used music to do the escaping.
It's sad to know that I have lost so much innocence. Maybe more than some other my age. I wish I could go back... I know that's not a healthy thing, but right at this moment in time, I wish...
