october 18, 2001 (2002?)

this is an email i sent out WAY back in the day when i was writing a lot more. i PROMISE to write more posts like these (randy made a comment). maybe this will inspire me:

it's not like i think i'm going to get ANTHRAX or anything, but it might be good for you all to know (just incase) that i am very alergic to Cipro.
This is the medicine they are giving to people with Anthrax. Maybe it's just good to know what friends/family are alergic to - ya never know...
I could be hanging out with randy one day and he'll ask me to get his mail and i will cause i'm a GREAT friend, and there i'll be... at his maibox, snooping around, and i'll open the letter that looks like it has the most gossip in it (ya know those binladen people write "gossip" on the outside of these letters to lure us americans into ripping open that letter as soon as we get it)... so, there i'll be 'a openin' randy's mail, and of course i'll be looking over my shoulder to make sure randy's not coming up behind me to see what's taking so long, which will distract me as i get anthrax all over me. there will be nothing of any interest to me in the envelope, of course, because binladen people aren't good writers from what i hear, so i'll dissapointingly walk back to randy's apartment having somehow fixed the envelope so that it looks undisturbed (that's a whole other story). so, "here ya go randy", i'll say as i hand him his mail, but oops... the envelope came undone (what a poor job i've done putting it back together) and i hold on to that one longer as randy goes through the rest of his mail. i'll quietly search around for tape or glue to put it back together... but oh NO!... randy knows me! he knows that i'm up to something sketchy and he gives his "what are you doing, coby?" randy look! big trouble as randy approaches me (it seems like slow-mo now)... i try to hide the letter behind my back (i think this will work, because if i haven't already told you, i decided am fat now and the diet isn't working... yet) ... so the letter is behind me and randy's 'a comin'. i quickly throw the letter out the window like the way randy takes out his trash (thinking THIS will somehow solve my problem) and now randy is mad as the letter falls 10 stories. sooo... we decide to take the fire shoot down to the bottom floor (this is the FUN part of the story). we reach the bottom safe and sound after a good laugh down and clothes have been ripped. we go outside to re-collect randy's mail... we open the door to the alley and whoa! we can't believe our eyes... there are hundreds of policemen, doctors, scientists, fire-fighters, detectives, and bums outside! and there under a microscope and in a plastic baggy is the letter with a white label reading, "P. A." (which of course means "possible anthrax"). thank god we decided to go down the shoot 3 times or we might have touched the envelope - OH WAIT! I did touch the envelope! i faint. and randy tries to catch me, but i'm too fat. i hit my head on the pavement and people rush around me - a bum steals my wallet and cell phone. i'm rushed to the hospital, luckily 2 blocks away. i'm in the ER, still passed out and the results come back. randy holds my hand tightly as the doctor says, "positive". a single tear runs down randy's face as he sings "Sun and Moon" (even though he can't sing lately because he was sick, but he tries anyway for me!)... the doctor comes back with my dose of Cipro and the IV is in my arm. there i am, passed out and getting my "treatment" but doesn't anyone know i'm alergic to Cipro?! no, because we never told eachother what we were alergic to. my arm is turning red and randy thinks it's working! he see's a needle full of cipro just sitting there on a near-by counter... the nurses are just gabbing away about last night's episode of Survivor, so randy grabs the needle - he thinks i need more! - he wants me to live! - he injects it into my other arm. i'm sure something really bad will happen to me now...
the moral of this story. dunno. but maybe now you won't forget the one thing i am alergic to... so far. :)
thanks for your time,
work is boring,
