why did "the gays" steal the rainbow? ugh!!!

tomorrow is the Gay Pride Parade in St. Pete.
i am thrilled and honored that i have been asked (for the second year in a row) to be IN the parade courtesy of one of my bestest friends, Kris Doubles & Grand Central Station!
so, what do we do for gay pride?
well... we meet at 9am at GCS (Grand Central Station) and Kris & everyone is running late.
queens...
anyway, we make sure that the float is ready to go & looking kick (kris says "kick" for kick ass) and we head over the Georgie's Alibi (another gay bar about 10 blocks away). all the floats meet there & the Alibi is already serving drinks for the early birds & alcoholics.
this year i will NOT be drinking until afternoonish. last year's gay pride parade felt like 2 days. i was spent.
when the parade starts we start singing on the float (we have the whole karaoke sound system set up & songs picked out) and we move throughout downtown st. pete. we are the loudest float out there, let me tell ya!
we throw beads to the crowd & try to get people singin' & dancin'.
the crowd keeps getting bigger & it gets more exciting.
tomorrow, i will be volunteering at GCS... helping with whatever.
BUT, THEN at 12:30 kris & i and a group of "Grand Central Singers" will be leading the ENTIRE crowd in singing our country's national anthem! yay. this is new for us & we are psyched. there are 2 stages (one all the way on the east end and one on the west & we'll split into 2 groups to sing). another HUGE honor! i think it will be pretty moving.
THEN i'll start drinkin'!
no soap boxes allowed, but this day is a time to celebrate men & women of any sexual orientation, color, and race. it's beautiful.
yay gay!
